You don’t have to become an expert in color theory or fashion, but knowing some basic rules of pairing colors together can help you create outfits that look good and fit with your style. Blue Dress
When someone sees a woman wearing a long blue dress, they will almost immediately think of Madonna.
It has something to do with her first hit single Like A Virgin in which she wore nothing but a blue nightgown.
The song was released back in 1984 when every teen idol wanted her as their girlfriend. This was most likely one of her biggest hits from that era.
Nowadays, people still think about Madonna whenever they see a girl wearing a long blue dress, so if you want to make an impression on everyone who comes in contact with you,
put on that striking baby-blue colored dress today! These dresses are available in formal and casual designs; therefore, you can choose whichever fits your personality best! You could even wear it for any special occasion or event. You’ll definitely be turning heads wherever you go!
Outfit Inspiration
There are many ways to dress for a wedding, but there’s also a lot of uncertainty about what’s appropriate for various events. As long as you can do it with confidence, there are no rules! Here are some of our favorite outfits we’ve seen at weddings that will give you inspiration on how you want to look like.
If you have multiple wedding events coming up, it might be a good idea to consider picking out an outfit (or two) beforehand—but don’t feel like there’s one right way of dressing; a wedding is all about celebrating your love!
We hope these outfit ideas spark your creativity. And if you need help figuring out which color goes best with your skin tone, head over to our style guide. This post was originally published in April 2016 and has been updated for accuracy and comprehensiveness.
Outfit Inspiration with a Navy Blazer
A navy blazer (especially a double-breasted one) is always a classic look. Consider styling it with either dress pants or jeans for work or a date, respectively.
For a step up from your typical weekend outfit, pair it with a coordinating navy bow tie or pocket square. Note that dark colors will make you appear thinner, so if you’re trying to shrink your waistline, add something bright in your ensemble for balance.
An all-navy outfit might be too much on its own; play it safe with a few accents of other colors instead. The same rules apply for women when wearing skirts and dresses. Make sure they have some color, pattern, or texture to them! Otherwise, you risk looking washed out.
Navy Blazer and White Shirt
This season’s hottest new trend is a dark blue suit with a crisp white shirt.
If you don’t own one, it’s not too late! Navy blazers are in all year round.
Pair yours with any neutral bottom like tan or khaki pants, jeans or chinos.
A light blue button-down will make your navy suit pop without clashing against it, so that’s also an option if you have a more traditional white button-down at home.
Keep your accessories minimal—you want to keep things looking sharp, not busy—
and wear some nice shiny dress shoes. Your whole look should be minimalistic but stylish;
no one wants to wear a full navy suit with a tie if they don’t have to!
And while we aren’t going to tell you how to run your life, we think Sunday would be a great day for blue as well…maybe even another shade of it.
For those who prefer something a little less formal than a navy suit (but still professional), try pairing some charcoal gray slacks with a pale pink dress shirt and matching silk tie. The color combo gives off a laid back vibe while still remaining polished enough for business meetings.
Bright Statement Scarf
A statement scarf adds just a pop of color that makes everything else in your outfit sing.
Try picking a bright color, like mint green or cobalt blue, or a jewel tone, like ruby red or amethyst purple.
These high-contrast colors are attention-grabbers in any outfit and will help you stand out from your peers.
You can wear them as a dress or sweater over your work clothes on cold days (although we recommend keeping it under 50 degrees).
If you want to keep warm, but still get noticed for your bright style, wrap it around your neck for some extra flair.
Just be sure not to cover up whatever printed details may be on your scarf – these embellishments are there for a reason! For example, an abstract floral pattern looks best when paired with a solid colored top so that its design can shine through.
Now if you choose to add some jewelry I suggest you stick with silver since most of your outfits are black. Silver accents go well with both neutral and colorful outfits while adding pops of interest without overpowering your whole look.
Here’s an example: Take another look at what I chose for my picture above: The blazer has silver buttons; my shirt has metal accents along its placket;
my necklace has metal circles dangling down; and I have silver rings on my fingers. My earrings aren’t metal, but they do have stone beads in them which create lots of shine too!
Navy Skirt Outfit
If you want to wear a skirt out on a date, but also feel comfortable, try wearing an A-line navy pencil skirt.
This will flatter your body by skimming over your waistline. You can then pair it with a turtleneck sweater that hits at your hip bones or wear a V-neck top underneath for extra coverage.
Since navy blue is such a bold color, it’s best to keep accessories simple in order to prevent too much contrast from detracting from your face.
To complete your outfit, don burgundy or nude pumps (depending on what color you wear on top) so that everything ties together seamlessly.
Paired with some small earrings and red lipstick, you’ll look fabulous!
An all white look has become a classic style of clothing. In fact, all white outfits are popular year round—and they never go out of style.
For those who like being able to wear something again and again without it looking worn or dated,
white outfits are ideal because they work well in any season.
All white looks are also flattering because of their simplicity; not only do they draw attention to your skin tone, but they also highlight whatever other pieces you choose to accessorize with.
The best part about wearing all white is that it works well with many different types of shoes, allowing you to choose between stilettos or flats depending on how fancy you want your outfit to be.
Fashionable Slip On Shoes
Invest in a pair of comfortable slip on shoes for your daily commute.
A good pair of shoes makes everything you do easier, from walking a mile or two to crossing a long distance in your car.
The best shoe for your commute will be both stylish and easy to get on and off, so that you don’t waste any time when getting ready for work or walking out into public.
If you spend an hour driving one way each day, every little thing counts when it comes to saving time throughout your morning routine.
Slip-on shoes are also ideal because they can easily be worn with socks or barefoot, depending on how cold it is outside.
They can even come with removable insoles that are perfect for switching between different types of socks as well as wearing without them at all if necessary.
Whatever type of footwear you choose, make sure they fit properly and comfortably to avoid soreness during your walk or drive to work. You may even want to consider purchasing more than one pair if you travel often!
10 Things To Remember When Wearing A Print Dress
- Make sure your prints match. Prints are almost always made up of multiple colors, so it’s important that each individual piece coordinates with one another. It doesn’t matter if you like yellow and brown, these two colors will look better in different combinations, not together. This rule also applies when choosing a print top with an existing print bottom (print top + solid bottom = okay).
- Don’t wear big prints on small people or small prints on big people, unless they are contrasting styles. A maxi dress looks silly on someone who is only 5 feet tall, but it looks fabulous on someone who is 6 feet tall. Similarly, a tiny floral sundress would make a large person look even larger than she already does; however, it could work for someone petite because of its style and length.
- Beware of busy patterns that compete with your face shape and size. If you have a round face or are petite in stature, avoid prints that compete for attention with your facial features by being too busy or large in scale. 4. Do not buy clothes without trying them on first! You might think something looks great online but once you get it home and try it on, things change drastically!
Which Colour Clothes to Wear on Which Day
- It’s Sunday today, it’s blue. It will be very cold so you should wear a woollen coat with a thick scarf.
- On Monday, it’s yellow, which means that it will be windy outside so you should wear a trouser and jacket instead of jeans.
- Tuesday is red; you can go for dark clothing but don’t forget to bring an umbrella because there might be rain.
- Wednesday is black, so it means that there will be sunny weather outside so make sure you bring your sunglasses as well as water bottles!
- Thursday is white; do wear something cool because it might be hot outside but don’t get too comfortable or else your parents might force you to go shopping on Friday!
- Friday is green, so it means that you have to wear some sportswear such as shorts and T-shirts since you are going out with your friends.
- Saturday is pink; do remember to dress up nicely since it’s time for dinner at your grandparents house! Have fun dressing up! Good luck in choosing what clothes to wear on each day!
